Bidisha talks to director Danny Boyle about his new, award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, which tells the story of a poor Indian boy on the cusp of winning the Who Wants to be a Millioniare jackpot. Based on the novel Q and A by Vikas Swarup, the film, shot and set in India, traces the turbulent life of a young street beggar whose appearance on the show exceeds people's expectations and raises suspicions from the game show host and police. Bidisha asks whether it will match the success of Boyle's previous films such as 28 Days Later, Trainspotting and Sunshine.
