Adrian Chiles presents highlights from the day's Premier League games, including Arsenal v Liverpool, Newcastle v Tottenham Hotspur, and West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City.
Adrian Chiles introduces highlights from the day's three Barclays Premier League games: Arsenal v Liverpool, Newcastle v Tottenham and West Brom v Manchester City.
Arsenal have won four of their last five home league meetings with Liverpool but the Gunners' Premier League form this season has been inconsistent. Arsene Wenger's team have beaten Manchester United and Chelsea, but they have also suffered defeats against less fashionable sides such as Fulham, Hull and Stoke. By contrast, Liverpool have proved more resolute and will be confident as they face a stiff test of their credentials to become league champions for the first time since 1990.
Tottenham visit Newcastle United with both sides having spent much of the early part of the season in the lower reaches of the Premier League. The Magpies have been victorious in the last three league encounters with Spurs at St James' Park, all by a 3-1 scoreline, but the arrival of Harry Redknapp has given Tottenham fans real hope of ending that run of defeats.
Meanwhile, West Brom and Manchester City meet at the Hawthorns with the Baggies' fans clinging to happy memories from City's recent visits. In January 2005, bottom-of-the-table West Brom's 2-0 victory was their first win in 16 games and it sparked a revival which resulted in them clinching an unlikely survival from relegation on the final day of the season.
