Presented by Sean Rafferty. With tenor Ben Heppner ahead of his recital of Strauss, Schubert, Britten and Duparc, plus Transition Opera performing from John Blow's Venus and Adonis.

Sean Rafferty presents a selection of music and guests from the arts world, including Ben Heppner, regarded by many as one of the world's finest dramatic tenors. Heppner talks about his role in Wagner's Ring Cycle with the Berlin Philharmonic and Simon Rattle at the Aix-en-Provence Festival which concludes in 2009. His forthcoming recital at the Barbican Centre, London, includes works by Strauss, Schubert, Britten and Duparc.

Plus soprano Katherine Manley and baritone Dawid Kimberg, with Christian Curnyn on harpsichord performing in the studio. Together, they make up Transition Company, which combines music and opera performance with new media, video and film. Their next project is John Blow's masque Venus and Adonis, often described as the earliest-surviving English opera.
