Jonathan Edwards is at Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, to present coverage of the Aviva International Match, the curtain-raiser to the 2009 athletics season and the first chance for Britain's track runners to impress new national head coach Charles van Commenee.

The event, which is the richest of its kind in the world, pits a Great Britain and Northern Ireland squad against the USA, Sweden, Germany and a Commonwealth select team. GB will have a tough job defending the title which they won last year, dramatically beating the USA by a single point over the 17 events.

For Britain, Kelly Sotherton will attract much of the domestic attention, competing in two events. She starts the afternoon in the 60m hurdles, where she's up against world indoor 60m champion Lolo Jones, and is also in the long jump, which offers up a domestic battle with Jade Johnson.

Just gaining selection for the GB team in the men's 60m will be tough, but the lucky man will be up against former world 100m champion Kim Collins. And after taking silver at the European Cross Country just before Christmas, Mo Farah starts his 2009 indoor season over 3000m.
