Matthew Sweet talks to playwright Richard Bean about his new play England People Very Nice. Set in London's East End, the work explores the area's rich immigrant past and present. Drawing parallels between the four main waves of migration in Bethnal Green - French Huguenots, Irish, Jewish and Bengali - it also tackles head-on the place of Islam in modern Britain. Bean talks to Matthew about why this area of London is a perfect lens through which to investigate the British Muslim and migrant experience.
