From the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, James Levine conducts a performance of the second installment of Wagner's four-part epic drama, The Ring of the Nibelung, based on Nordic myths.

Wotan, the emotionally volatile leader of the Gods, finds himself torn by conflicting loyalites. Will he support his children in their search for true love - even if adulterous and incestuous - or will he have to enforce the law and defend the conventional marriage rights of an unloved husband?

Presented by Margaret Juntwait with guest commentator Ira Siff. The two intervals include backstage interviews and the Met Quiz.
