Peter Morrison from Grimsay聽was working in Belfast. He was聽working on a vessel [ship]. That聽was in the year 1911. He saw the聽big ship, the Titanic, being聽launched. It was a great day.聽Many of the city鈥檚 folk聽were on the river bank. They聽were watching the Titanic being聽launched. They were waiting聽quietly. The Titanic started to聽slide down. The people were聽shouting, 鈥淭here she goes! There聽she goes!鈥澛燭here were two old聽Irishmen close to Peter. Each聽had a clay pipe. They had tweed聽jackets on. And hats. Peter was聽listening to them. They were聽speaking to each other. One of聽them said something surprising聽to the other man. I鈥檒l tell you in a聽moment what he said.聽The boat went into the river.聽She was floating. Many people聽were delighted. But the old man聽next to Peter was not. He turned聽to the other man. He took his聽pipe out of his mouth. He said in聽English, 鈥淢ark my word, Pat,聽she鈥檒l be an unlucky ship.鈥澛燱hat did the old Irishman聽see on that day? Did he see an聽omen/supernatural warning?聽Peter and the crew of his boat聽went back to their vessel.聽They聽were talking to each other about聽the matter. They were talking聽about it for days. Why did he say,聽鈥淢ark my word, Pat, she鈥檒l be an聽unlucky ship.鈥�?聽Whatever he saw, he was聽correct.
