21/04/2009 Helene Grimaud and Mischa Maisky

Presented by Sean Rafferty. With two classical music stars - pianist Helene Grimaud and cellist Mischa Maisky, who plays live in the studio. Plus the 2009 RPS Music Awards.

Sean Rafferty presents a selection of music and guests from the arts world, including two major international stars.

Ahead of her concert at the Royal Festival Hall, London, pianist Helene Grimaud talks about performing Brahms with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Cellist Mischa Maisky plays Bach in the studio, before the UK premiere of Yusupov's Cello Concerto with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Maisky discusses the work - composed for, and dedicated to him by the Israeli composer - which fuses both Western and Eastern musical traditions.

Plus news of the nominations for the 2009 Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards.
