Why is the number of abortions in Scotland at a record high?
Abortions are at an all-time high, yet England has seen its first drop in three years. Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
The Scottish Government has expressed disappointment after the number of abortions being carried out in Scotland rose to an all-time high last year. The rise is in contrast to England, where recent statistics revealed that the number of abortions had fallen for the first time in three years.
The Scottish figures, published yesterday by ISD Scotland, show that fewer teenagers are having abortions and that the overall rise is largely down to an increase among the number of women between the ages of 20 and 24.
Should we be alarmed by these figures? Is abortion becoming a form of 'contraception on demand'? And should we make abortion more difficult?
Graham Stewart takes your calls, texts and emails.
