Rector of the Royal College of Art and former head of the Arts Council Christopher Frayling joins novelist DJ Taylor to discuss the wider importance of key cultural events in the year 1934, which saw the death of Holst and Delius, and the birth of Harrison Birtwistle and Peter Maxwell Davies. Among the topics they discuss are HG Wells's futuristic novel The Shape of Things to Come and the arrival of the Bauhaus designer emigres in Britain.
