大象传媒 Proms 2009

The first Proms performance of Holst's Choral Symphony, setting words by Keats, complemented by Delius's English Rhapsody, inspired by an old Lincolnshire folksong.

The concert ends with Elgar's ever-popular Enigma Variations, the work whose musical pictures of the composer and his friends (14 humans and one dog) finally brought him the recognition he deserved when it was premiered in 1899.
