Eva Hoffman/Cornish Identity/The Catwalk/Words and History

Presented by Rana Mitter. With Eva Hoffman on her new book about time; the current renaissance in Cornish identity; a discussion on the catwalk; understanding history through words.

Rana Mitter talks to Eva Hoffman about her new book Time and her relationship with this elusive concept. A writer and academic, Hoffman was born in Poland in 1945 to Jewish parents on the run from the Holocaust.

Rana and guests debate the current renaissance in Cornish identity, as moves are made to have 'Cornish' offered as a nationality in the 2011 census.

As London Fashion Week gets into gear, Rana discusses the iconic stage at the centre of the action - the catwalk.

And, marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of Samuel Johnson, Professor David Wootton talks about new ways in which words, and their development, are being used as tools to understand history.
