All this week, as part of Radio 2's Living with Dementia campaign, Jeremy takes a closer look at dementia and what life is like for those people who have the illness, and for their loved ones. Today he talks to the author, Andrea Gillies, about the incredibly difficult decision of whether to continue visiting a relative with dementia, who doesn't remember who you are.
There will be further sources of information and support for people affected by dementia at bbc.co.uk/radio2. People can share their experiences with others through a special message board or post a question to our experts from the Alzheimer's Society. Support is also available through the Radio 2 helpline 0800 022 022. Calls are free from most landlines. Some networks and mobile operators will charge for these calls.
