Dan Walker previews the weekend's football fixtures and looks back at the events of the previous seven days, which include the first leg of the Republic of Ireland's play-off against France, with a place in summer 2010's World Cup at stake.
The Premier League returns after the international break and the Big Four clubs play on Saturday. Liverpool face Manchester City at Anfield at lunchtime, and Manchester United meet Everton at Old Trafford at teatime.
