Gordon Brown has said overpaid public sector workers will be "named and shamed" in an effort to deliver more value for money in public services. In future, all new public sector jobs with salaries above 拢150,000 will have to be approved by the Treasury. But what about the private sector? Backbench MP Paddy Tipping says no-one in the UK should be paid more than 拢120,000 for the sake of 'fairness and justice.' Meanwhile, banking chiefs have reacted angrily to news the Treasury is considering a one-year windfall tax on bonuses paid to some UK-based bankers.
