Celebrating Valentine's Day, the Alex Lester way, on The Best Time of the Day Show. Shameful first date stories and romances that were doomed from 'hello'.

It's a bumper show this morning. As well as being Feelgood Friday, we are also celebrating Valentine's Day (albeit a couple of days early), the Alex Lester way. Romantic dedications, sensuous music and tear-jerking tales of the heart's lone desire...none of that mush on this show! Instead, we are laughing heartily at those disastrous first dates, romances that never got off the starting block and encounters with those words, "there's something you should know".

There are classic tracks by Dinah Washington and Wanda Jackson from Lester's Library and a cheeky AC/DC track from the Listener's Library. One final track from Owl City's Album of the Week, another play of Record of the Week from Johnny Cash and more Pause for Thought.
