Shelagh Fogarty asks: do bonuses promote greed or good business?

The Royal Bank of Scotland has announced losses of 拢3.6 billion this morning, but that's down from 拢24.3 billion this time last year. It could be argued that's a pretty successful year's trading. The Chancellor Alistair Darling has approved a bonus package likely to be worth 拢1.3 billion for RBS but do they deserve it?
