Jill Douglas introduces coverage from the first day of the Track Cycling World Championships at the Ballerup Super Arena in Denmark.

Great Britain won nine medals in Poland 12 months ago, including two golds. The squad will be hoping for further success this time around, with the 2012 London Olympics drawing ever closer.

There are four finals to be decided on day one of the five-day competition, including two events where Britain claimed silver medals in Poland. Wendy Houvenghel was the runner-up in the women's individual pursuit event, while the trio of Matthew Crampton, Jason Kenny and Jamie Staff took second place in the men's team sprint. There's added spice to the 2010 sprint event with Sir Chris Hoy expected to feature.

Hugh Porter and Chris Boardman are the commentators.
