Why women should value their "Erotic Capital". In a recent article Dr Catherine Hakim, a sociologist at the London School of Economics, coined the term 'erotic capital' to describe that crucial combination of physical and social attractiveness which makes some people particularly desirable. She claims it should be recognised as a new fourth category of personal asset (alongside economic, cultural and social capital). She argues it can be as important as educational qualifications.
