Each year thousands of hopeful parents place their trust in IVF clinics, as they seek fertility treatment to assist them with conceiving. Worryingly, the number of mistakes made at IVF clinics in England and Wales has nearly doubled over the past year, with tragic results for some couples as precious embryos are lost of mixed up with those of other patients.

We speak exclusively to one couple who plan to take legal action against one clinic, following the disappearance of two of their embryos. Meanwhile experts in the field are calling for tighter regulation and enforcement from the IVF industry regulator, the HFEA.
