Louise Fryer with music played by Radio France's orchestras. Stravinsky: Circus Polka. Schumann: Piano Concerto (soloist Lars Vogt). Stravinsky: The Firebird. Brahms: Symphony No 2.

Stravinsky lived in France for 20 years and enjoyed some of his greatest successes (as well as a scandal or two) there. In today's programme we hear Parisian performances of music from two of his great ballet scores as well as a rare chance to hear a complete performance of Debussy's 'Images' - the colour of Spain, a gentle evocation of spring - and something that ends up sounding suspiciously like a Geordie folk-song! The programme is presented by Louise Fryer.
