John Inverdale presents live coverage of the Great City Games, taking place on the streets of Manchester. The inaugural event in 2009 was lit up by triple Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt, who ran a world record time in the 150m and there are plenty of top-class athletes on the bill once again.
American Tyson Gay will attempt to break the straight 220-yard dash world record, currently held by the legendary Tommie Smith, who is a special guest at the Games.
Two British superstars go head to head when world heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis takes on Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu over 150m.
