Susannah Clapp reports on the first night of La Bete which stars Mark Rylance, David Hyde Pierce and Joanna Lumley and the psychiatrist and psychotherapist, Dr Cleo van Velsen, the theologian Philip Blond and the prisoner turned author, Mark Johnson, examine the idea of rehabilitation - a discussion prompted by the Justice Secretary, Kenneth Clarke's recent remarks about the need for shorter prison sentences.
