Tired Pony Live In Session

Lauren has a live session from supergroup Tired Pony in the 6 Music studios, plus Empire editor Mark Dinning brings you his Friday Film Club.

Lauren is joined by Tired Pony for a live session in the 6Music studios. The supergroup is led by Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody and also features REM's Peter Buck, producer Jacknife Lee and singer Iain Archer. They release their debut album The Place We Ran From on July 12th which is said to sound nothing like any of the collective members full time bands, instead, according to Lightbody, it heavily features country tinged sound. Among the guest musicians on the album are actress and singer Zooey Deschanel and Editors frontman Tom Smith.

Plus Empire editor Mark Dinning brings us his Friday Film Club and Memory Tapes features five songs from a listener's beloved old mixtape.
