Newspaper reports suggested the Chancellor was looking at cutting an extra 拢4bn from the welfare bill; Mr Duncan Smith says he does not recognise that figure. We'll be looking for answers.

Nothing is more important than the defence of the realm... but the powerful, Conservative-led Defence Select Committee says the Government's Strategic Defence Review is being conducted too quickly and could put UK security at risk.

Bank of England Governor, Mervyn King, is addressing the TUC conference this morning. Some hardline unionists think he is the real driver of the Government's cuts agenda which they oppose. We'll have the analysis.
