Greek Historical Sites
Greece's economic problems have greatly affected the country, with
workers losing their jobs and many taking to the streets to vent their
anger at the state. The country's historical sites and attractions are
feeling the strain as part of this. There is a real worry amongst some
in the country that not enough is spent on maintenance for the sites,
and with some workers having not been paid for up to two years, strikes
have left many sites and museums shut to visitors. Darren Laing
investigates the situation.
