AMELIA FREEDMAN'S 70th BIRTHDAY CONCERT
From the Wigmore Hall in London, a recital by the Nash Ensemble celebrating the 70th birthday of Amelia Freedman, CBE, their founder and Artistic Director, with a programme she has chosen herself, including chamber favourites by Ravel, Schubert, Spohr, Dvorak, as well as a selection of music by friend composers, among them, Michael Berkeley, Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Simon Holt, Colin Matthews, David Matthews and Mark-Anthony Turnage. Joining the Nash Ensemble is soprano Dame Felicity Lott and some surprise guests too!

Followed today and tomorrow by songs from a recital by baritone Christopher Maltman accompanied by pianist Malcolm Martineau, part of the Wigmore Hall's exploration of a hundred years of German Lieder. This week the survey reaches the 1820s with music by Schubert, Mendelssohn and Loewe.
