This week American jazz singer Cassandra Wilson talks about her career, what inspired her to be a singer, and she explains the story behind her new album Silver Pony.

Jamie also selects an archive recording of a tribute to Charlie Parker made for Jazz625 in 1964. The session features the J.J. Johnson Group including Sonny Stitt, Howard McGhee, Kenny Clarke, Tommy Potter and Walter Bishop (Jr.) and is introduced by Steve Race.
