Efficiency savings or huge cutbacks? We look at life after the abolition of the region's development agency Yorkshire Forward. We have had more than a decade of seeing a quarter of a billion pounds pumped into the economy of Yorkshire and the Humber every year through the agency. From next year rival Local Enterprise Partnerships centred on Leeds and Sheffield will be be competing for funds from a new national Regional Growth Fund which has just a third of the money that Englands RDAs have been spending. And where does this leave Hull, Grimsby and the East coast? The Government has turned down plans to set up a proposed LEP for that area and asked for a rethink by the councils and business leaders beind it. Hull is now the biggest city in the country which will have no enterprise agency when the new scheme is launched. Tim Iredale investigates and will discuss the issue live from the Politics Show studio with MPs and council leaders.
