Nicky Campbell in London and Shelagh Fogarty at West Midlands Police HQ, where she's told that groups like the EDL are helping the rise of Islamic extremism.
Nicky Campbell in the studio in London with Shelagh Fogarty broadcasting from Birmingham's Central Police Station. West Midlands Police tell us that the activities of groups like the English Defence League provide fertile ground in which Islamic extremism can flourish. Nicky interviews the head of the EDL, who says 9/11 and 7/7 were nothing to do with them. Reporter Bob Walker gets exclusive access to a crackhouse raid and Phil Mackie to counter-terror operations.
Away from the police, we covered the reactions to Lord Young's comments that Britons had never had it so good and they should top bleating about the "so-called recession" and to Jason Manford's resignation from The One Show. Christian Horner, the principle of the Red Bull Formula 1 team, talks to Nicky about their all-conquering season and we hear from witnesses present at the bombing of Leicester seventy years ago.
