Would you be uncomfortable if a Sikh student was wearing a kirpan? Plus we discuss pregnancy weight issues and Bala Thakrar talks about domestic violence in India.
At 1, Nihal chairs the debate of the day. We're asking, 'Would you be uncomfortable if a Sikh student was wearing a kirpan in your child's school?'
The local education authority in Bedfordshire have sent out new guidelines to head teachers and governing bodies across Bedford stating that children who have gone through the Amrit ceremony - baptised Sikh student - can wear the Kirpan as part of the five Ks as long as it is no more than six inches long.
Is it fair that Sikh students will be allowed to carry what is effectively - a knife? Is it time for religious groups just to play by the rules, or are religious sentiments still really important?
After 2, Is it ok for your wife to be fat after pregnancy? A survey's revealed women who've just had babies feel under immense pressure to lose weight straight after giving birth. So for all the husbands out there...time to tell me the truth...do you wish your wife hadn't put on so much weight during pregnancy?
And later in the hour, Nihal speaks to Bala Thakrar from Asian Foundation for Philanthropy who joins him in studio to talk about how her organisation aims to help those suffering from domestic violence in India.
