Brian Matthew presents the programme for all fans of the music of the 1960s. This week there are tracks from Shirley Ellis, the late Solomon Burke, Humble Pie, The Astors, Nancy Sinatra, The Bandwagon, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Don Partridge, Rick Nelson and two from The Overlanders. The EP selection features Cliff and the Shadows. With facts, figures and trivia as well as the classic hits, rarities, instrumentals and album tracks, the selection sweeps right across the most important decade for popular music from beginning to end. The Sixties Chronicles digs into the archives for the events of this coming week during the 1960's - The Beatles' first 大象传媒 session, the story of the Surrey Puma which was never captured, the start of Mary Whitehouse's National Viewers and Listeners Association, the first heart transplant and the Trade Descriptions Act.
Sounds Of The Sixties began in 1983 and Brian has been at helm since 1990, bringing to the programme his distinctive voice and unmatchable experience of sixties shows.
