Erol Alkan returns to 6 Music for the first edition of a brand new, bi-monthly, 6 Mix residency. Since he last graced the 6 Music airwaves, Erol has toured all over the world, playing in America, Canada, Japan, South America to packed clubs. Closer to home, this summer Erol played Liverpool's Creamfields and headlined the dance tent at Bestival on the Isle of Wight, as well as finding time to remix MGMT and Chilly Gonzalez and running his own label Phantasy. What a busy man! For his brand new series of shows Erol says "from the latest club cuts right through to obscure psychedelic gems from the 1960's, my aim is to broadcast 2 hours of the best music you have probably never heard before." On this week's show, Erol plays upfront music from Gesaffelstein, Newcleus and Discodene, long-lost Falco and in the final 30 minutes, his 'mystery mix' returns for another outing.
