The start of Wall Street's bank reporting season kicks off later, with US bank JP Morgan Chase. With two full years of profit now under its belt since the financial crisis, will it now raise its dividends? We ask Bill Cohan, who has been a Wall Street banker for 17 years, what the forecasts are from JP Morgan Chase.
New measures proposed in last Autumn's Spending Review will force energy companies to give pensioners on benefit up to 拢130 a year off their energy bills. However, some think the scheme doesn't go far enough. Laura Keeley joins us from the cancer support charity Macmillan, which says that people suffering from terminal cancer should also be included in the scheme.
Major UK house-builder, Barratt, has teamed up with a finance company to offer personal loans of up to 拢50,000 to parents - which they can then give to their children as a deposit so they can buy their first home. We speak to Melanie Bien, Director of Mortgage Broker, Private Finance, about how this scheme will work.
And later this month, the Scottish Parliament will vote on proposals to impose a levy on large high-street shops and out-of-town shopping centres. Gary Clarke is Head of Policy at Scottish Chamber Of Commerce, and joins us to discuss these proposals and explain his fears.
