Episode 1
Heartwarming drama. Following the closure of the Valley Bara bakery, the tight-knit community's prospects go from bleak to hopeful when it contemplates an outrageous idea.
Valley Bara bakery lies at the heart of a small South Wales town. Generations have worked, skived, flirted, fought and earned an honest living there. But then the recession bites, and the bakery workers find themselves unemployed overnight.
With their lives in turmoil, and facing a future on the dole, it looks like the beginning of the end for this close-knit community. Then an outrageous idea from local joker and wide boy Owen opens up a world of possibilities and a chance to find out if we really are all in this together.
The first of three contemporary, poignant and heart-warming episodes rooted in the reality of a small valley town as the current economic crisis strikes at the heart of its community. Starring the best of Welsh talent, The Baker Boys brings colourful, charismatic and real characters to the screen.
