Marti Pellow on his Memphis influences, Martin Taylor talks about folk influences in Jazz and the doors of the Penguin Caf茅 are re-opened by Arthur Jeffes.

When Wet Wet Wet were first signed their first producer was Willie Mitchell. Mitchells influence on Marti Pellow had already ploughed deep ruts into his musical mind. It's these influences that have continued to pop up through the rest of his career as a solo artist on stage and in the studio. Marti joins The Music Caf茅 to look at his musical influences and how his career has almost gone full circle with the release of his latest album Love to Love.

Inspired by some of the great folk traditions, some would argue that Jazz has taken a lot from the folk world. But what has the folk world got back from Jazz? Ahead of the launch of Radio Scotland re-mixed world famous jazz guitarist, Martin Taylor joins Bruce to look at the cross pollination between the two genres

The Penguin Caf茅 have been classed in every genre except thrash metal. The thoughts of a hallucinating, food poisoned man, the Penguin Caf茅 Orchestra closed it doors after its creator Simon Jeffes died in 1997. Now his son, Arthur has re-opened its doors and re-branded it as Penguin Caf茅. He joins The Music Caf茅 to explore some of the more visionary aspects of his music.
