The pressure is mounting in MasterChef's tough new audition round as the hunt for the country's best amateur cook continues.
With thousands of applicants this year, MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace continue their gargantuan task of eating and judging an exciting variety of dishes to fill the last of the 20 coveted places in this year's competition. Only the lucky ones who win a MasterChef apron will have the right to cook in the brand-new MasterChef kitchen.
The auditions are at the halfway stage, and with just nine places left of the 20, the hopefuls have to impress the judges quickly. Emotions are running high as dishes either make or fail to hit the mark; and dreams are either realised or squashed.
Only the best will win a place, taking their first step to become Masterchef Champion 2011.
