Jonathan Manson, Elizabeth Kenny

Recital by Jonathan Manson (viola da gamba) and Elizabeth Kenny (lute). Forqueray: La buisson. Adam Duncan: Images Sombres (world premiere). Plus music by De Visee and Marais.

The theme of this week's Lunchtime Concerts is "New Tunes on Old Fiddles". Recorded in the Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall at the University of Leeds, the four concerts focus on so-called "ancient" instruments, both in their familiar repertoire and out of their comfort zone. Each concert includes the world premiere of a new work by a young composer. Today's recital features the viola da gamba player Jonathan Manson and lutenist Elizabeth Kenny. Their programme includes French Baroque music by Antoine Forqueray, Robert de Vis茅e and Marin Marais, alongside the first performance of "Images Sombres" - a new work by the Wirral-born composer Adam Duncan.

FORQUERAY - Chaconne "La Buisson"
ADAM DUNCAN - Images Sombres
DE VISEE - Suite in D minor
MARAIS - Suite No. 6 in E minor from Book 2.
