Ramblin' Man - Johnnie meets Gregg Allman

Johnnie Walker celebrates the 70s, featuring classic tracks from both sides of the Atlantic. His guest is Gregg Allman who remembers a decade of triumph and tragedy.

Johnnie Walker remembers the hits of the 70s from prog to pop to punk. This week, Johnnie meets Gregg Allman to talk about a decade of triumph and tragedy for The Allman Brothers.

Following the acclaimed release of his seventh solo album Low Country Blues, which was produced by T Bone Burnett, Johnnie meets Gregg to look back at 40 career in music, not only as a solo artist but as a founding member and surviving brother of the Allman Brothers Band.

Johnnie takes Gregg back to those early days of the Allman Brothers. Gregg remembers joining the band on the invitation of his brother Duane; how they used to set up impromptu gigs in parks; and how they went stratospheric with of Brothers And Sister, which was released just after Duane's death.

Also on the show, Frank Lee from Bridge of Weir recalls Slade, Showaddywaddy and Elton John in his 'My 70's' and Johnnie spins three gems from Neil Young's classic album Harvest.
