At 1, Were Asian taxi drivers being unreasonable for only wanting to wear shalwar kameez to work?

Pendle Council in Lancashire were defeated in a vote last night to try to get all their taxi drivers to smarten up. The council had drawn up proposals about acceptable dress codes for cab and taxi drivers in Pendle. They included no short skits, rips or holes in clothes and rugby tops. But some Asian drivers argued that by not allowing them to wear the salwaar kameez, the council were racially discriminating against them. Do you agree?
