Mike Harding presents an hour of the very best in folk, roots and acoustic music, including an interview with members of The Unthanks about their much anticipated new album, Last.

The widely acclaimed Northumbrian group surfaced in 2005 as Rachel Unthank and The Winterset. Since then they have consistently bewitched both critics and music fans with their uniquely bleak and beautiful arrangements of traditional songs.

The Unthanks are one of contemporary British folk music's most successful exponents, and have made significant impressions both inside and outside the scene. In 2007 their album The Bairns was nominated for the Mercury Prize. And recent projects have included a 大象传媒 Four documentary about folk dance and theatre shows with Colin Firth and Keira Knightley.

On tonight's programme, they tell Mike Harding all about the new album, which is their fourth and possibly their most accomplished yet. Mike learns what inspired and influenced the making of the new album and plays a selection of tracks from it.
