Two heavyweight directors on The Movie Cafe - Kevin McDonald discusses The Eagle and Ken Loach discusses Route Irish.

The Eagle - Kevin McDonald The Oscar winning director of 'The Last King of Scotland'. Kevin McDonald will be on hand to tell us all about the Roman epic adventure 'THE EAGLE.' It's based on a classic novel by Rosemary Sutcliff and set in the dangerous world of second-century Britain. Following on from his interview, we have a review with critics Siobhan Synnot and Alastair Harkness

Benda Bilili: We hear all about an extraordinary documentary that follows 'Staff Benda Bilili', a band of disabled Congolese musicians and street children, who electrify the streets of Kinshasa with the sounds of rumba-rooted grooves, vibrant vocals and echoes of old-school rhythm and blues. The film follows their journey from rehearsing on the sidewalks of Kinshasa, and local zoo, to performing their first European concerts, singing songs about the polio that impaired them and life on the street whilst "sheges," abandoned kids, follow and give a helping hand to the band.

Submarine The director and cast of this acclaimed new comedy discuss the film which follows a 15-year-old boy with two objectives: To lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to stop his mother from leaving his father for her dance teacher.

Our DVD Pick of the Week is the Let Me In - the story of a bullied young boy who befriends a young female vampire.

And finally we hear about Route Irish from the famed director Ken Loach. He has turned his attention to private security contractors in Iraq with this project.
