Tony Palmer's documentary about Richard Wagner's three-act opera Parsifal, which celebrates the search for the Holy Grail.

The film features a rare interview with the late Wolfgang Wagner, Richard's grandson, who explains what his grandfather intended and why.

With contributions from Monty Python, Ingmar Bergman and Steven Spielberg, alongside footage of Palmer's own stage production starring Placido Domingo, the film examines the explosive nature of the dangerous political ideas embodied in the legend of Parsifal.
