Mike and The Mechanics talk about their new album, plus Larkin Poe on their seasonal album quartet and Francis MacDonald of Teenage Fanclub with music inspired by life on the road.

With a new line up, a new label and a new album, Mike and The Mechanics are back on the road with their appropriately named album The Road. They Join Bruce on the last live Music Caf茅 to talk about the new line up and sound of the band that has grown and evolved since peaking in the charts in the late 80's with hits like Silent Running, All I Need Is A Miracle and the classic hit Over My Shoulder

Larkin Poe have just released the final two albums that complete their mini series of albums inspired by the four seasons. Fall and Winter, released at the start of spring, complete the quartet by blending country, bluegrass, folk, blues and Americana. Sisters, Rebecca and Megan Lovell join Bruce as they start their first UK tour.

Life on the road for any musician can be a monotonous routine of daily repetition. Time spent on a tour bus looking out of the window can evoke many thoughts. For Teenage Fanclub drummer, Francis MacDonald life on the road provided inspiration for his latest solo instrumental album, Maculate Conceptions. Written and recorded on the bus during Teenage Fanclub's recent tour of Europe this is fascinating musical insight into the life of a touring musician.
