At 1, Is it creepy or sweet if someone says they want to marry you after just one date?

A friend of one the team has recently met a guy who told her of his nightmare introductions. He was frightened off by one girl who he met once, who then went home and told her family she wanted to get married to him! He ran a fair distance in the opposite direction - claiming she was desperate and creepy. Is he right?
