New York

Aled Jones finds out what life is like for the singers and congregation of St Thomas Church on Fifth Avenue in New York.

Aled Jones whisks us off to New York to find out about the only choir school in America, that of St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, New York. The director of music at St Thomas is John Scott, who spent much of his career at St Paul's Cathedral in London: the music he encourages the choir to sing includes the core of the English cathedral tradition as well as commissions from contemporary American composers. We hear from John Scott himself, as well as some of his singers and members of the congregation.
