We look at Portugal's bailout deal, why the new system of helping sick people to go to work isn't effective and ask whether we are to expect more strike action in the year ahead?
Portugal has announced that after 3 weeks of negotiations with European Commission, European Central Bank and the IMF, it has thrashed out the terms of a 拢70 billion bailout. We speak to 大象传媒 correspondent Alison Roberts in Lisbon.
The new system designed to get sick employees back to work isn't working. According to the engineering employers organisation the EEF, the so-called "fit note" introduced last April, which allows doctors to suggest things a sick employee might be able to do at work, within the limits of the condition, isn't effective. We speak to Steve Radley, Director of Policy at EEF.
