At 1- Does Pakistan need America?

The Pakistani Army and Goverment have hit back 5 days after the raid that ended up with the death of Osama Bin laden. Both the country's top general, Ashfaq Kayani, and Foreign Minister, Salman Bashir, have warned the US that Pakistan will end intelligence co-operation with Americans if there's another villation of Pakistani sovereignity.

But isn't the truth that Pakistanis need America to keep afloat? Are Pakistan just making empty threasts? Yesterday they admitted that Bin Laden had lived a few hundred yards from the military academy in Abbottabad for 5 years, and yet the Pakistani authorities knew nothing about it. Are they in any position to dictate to America over anything?
