At least 8 people die in the worst earthquake to hit Spain for 50 years, reports from Libya say the rebels have taken Misrata airport and the attack of the Cicadas in America.

As reports come through that the rebels in Libya have taken the airport in the besieged town of Misrata, Rhod speaks to a doctor working in the town.

The latest from Spain as the biggest earthquake for fifty years rocks Lorca and kills eight people.

Although foreign journalists are banned from Syria, Times reporter Martin Fletcher has spent the last week undercover in the country. He talks about being arrested and his subsequent release from a Syrian detention centre.

It's been 13 years since the Cicadas were last seen in America but they are back. The inch-long insects, which are sometimes mistakenly called 17-year locusts, have been reported hatching in South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and Arkansas.

Republican heavyweight Newt Gingrich has thrown his hat in the ring for the Republican Presidential Nomination.
