It’s Max’s birthday, and Vanessa’s furious when she sees Max’s injuries from his beating from Jack. Max throws Jack’s things out of their office. Carol thinks Jack needs their support, but Max won’t make the first move, and insists Jack has to apologize to him first. Carol worries about Jack to Michael, and is annoyed at his lack of interest. Jack’s disgusted with himself for cheating on Ronnie, Carol convinces him to go and see Max, telling him that Max needs him. Tanya feels guilty for getting Max involved with Jack and Rainie. Max softens when he sees Jack’s trying to make amends and invites him and Tanya to stay for lunch, much to Vanessa’s annoyance.

Shirley plans a party to cheer up Heather, and wants Ben to make a finger buffet to impress his probation officer. Phil ridicules Heather, Ben’s irritated that Phil’s always so nasty to her. Ben runs into Nathan who taunts him, Shirley steps in and defends him. At the party, Shirley’s not impressed when Abi turns up to ‘officially’ meet the family as Jay’s girlfriend. Heather’s upset when Phil taunts her in front of everyone, claiming that Kevin68 wasn’t real. Guilty Ben snaps at him to stop, and shouts that Kevin68 did exist; it was him.

Masood’s irritated by Yusef’s involvement at the Argee Bhajee. Denise’s annoyed to discover Kim’s discussed her relationship with Masood, and thinks his problem with Yusef is in his head. Masood’s tells her that Zainab doesn’t know what Yusef sees in her. Denise confronts Zainab, accusing her of being jealous of their relationship.

Dot’s jealous when she discovers that Edward’s going to meet up with his old friend Betty.
